Mild Steel SA 283 Grade C Sheet & Plates serve applications as varied as the industries that use them, led chiefly by the aerospace, railway, construction and automotive industries along with petrochemical, nuclear, medical, Oil & Gas, Chemical, Pharmaceutical, Food & Beverage, Nuclear, Thermal Power plants, Paper and Pulp, marine and mining, etc.
Mild Steel SA 283 Grade C Sheet & Plates are typically not advised for cryogenic service because of their poor stability at low temperatures. When exposed internally to minimum temperatures under -20°C (-4 °F), mild steel is prone to corrosion and can lose its ductility, which may undermine its structural integrity. Cryogenic uses call for materials with strong low-temperature characteristics, and special alloys or metals engineered specifically for cryogenic purposes, like austenitic stainless steel or low-temperature carbon steel, are favored.
