ASTM A709 Grade 50 weathering steel is not appropriate for high-temperature uses because of its constraints in elevated-temperature settings. It was created mainly to resist atmospheric corrosion and to serve structural purposes under normal ambient conditions. For applications involving high temperatures, materials that offer specific heat-resistant characteristics should be chosen instead.
